UPMC Shadyside is hiring a full-time Professional Staff Nurse to join their OR team! In this role, you will work 2 8-hour shifts and 2 12-hour shifts per week with occasional weekends, holidays, and on-call on a rotating basis!

UPMC Shadyside’s Operating Room (OR) serves patients through various surgical specialties including neuro, cardiac, ortho, vascular, urology, plastics, thoracic, robotics, and more! We do see a heavy oncology patient population. We are a 24-bed OR and we see over 60 cases per day. We are currently transitioning to a self-scheduling model to offer our staff greater work-life balance, and we boast a limited surgical schedule on the weekends. Our OR is a very team-centered department- we are one big team that helps each other out!

Responsibilities

Consistently give appropriate feedback to all members of the health care team and participate in the nursing peer review process. Demonstrate highly developed clinical assessment and analytical skills within the context of Relationship Based Care. Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. Formulate daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as a partner and consider the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner. Create comprehensive patient documentation and promote communication between caregivers. Create a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Performs scrub role (requirement for RNs hired on or after July 1, 2023).
