Professional Staff Nurse
**UPMC Northwest Hospital** Seneca, PA Professional Staff Nurse Unit: Telemetry Unit Status: Full Time (typically 36 hours/week) Shift: Night shift: typically, 7p–7a (mix of 8 & 12 hr shifts) + Foster productive, respectful relationships with patients, families, and team members through accountability, enthusiasm, and collaboration. + Promote a healthy work-life balance and model time management, safety, and wellness. Communicate workplace safety concerns to leadership as needed. + Demonstrate cultural awareness and promote a positive, inclusive work environment by holding self and peers accountable for healthy interactions. + Support the growth and development of others by serving as a preceptor and creating an environment of continuous learning and feedback. + Utilize the nursing process within a Relationship-Based Care model to create individualized, holistic care plans and daily goals in partnership with patients. + Demonstrate critical thinking to address clinical, psychological, social, safety, and spiritual needs throughout the episode of care. + Communicate clearly with the care team to ensure coordination, continuity, and quality of care. Maintain thorough, accurate documentation to support safe transitions and collaboration. + Actively engage in professional development and shared governance to advance clinical practice and improve the care environment. + Respond flexibly to changing priorities, serve as a full partner on the care team, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. + Identify and pursue opportunities for quality improvement. Participate in unit-specific initiatives and promote evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and experiences + RN license (or Temporary Practice Permit) required; must obtain full licensure within 6 months of hire or 1 year of graduation, whichever comes first + BLS/CPR certification (AHA standards) required within 30 days of hire + RN experience preferred + Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills + Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team + Physical stamina to meet the demands of frequent walking, lifting, and patient positioning + Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
