Summary of Position
The full-time Computer Science faculty is an instructional position directly responsible to the Dean, Military Operations. The instructor’s duties and responsibilities are teaching students, performing a variety of administrative duties, and coordinating activities. The instructor will teach face-to-face courses for transitioning soldiers on Fort Cavazos campus. This is a grant funded position.
Minimum Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education. Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Required Experience
Five years wage earning work experience related to the competencies or learning outcomes of various CTC Computer Science courses is required. Work experience and demonstrated proficiency in Information Technology Security to include networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and IT security auditing. This experience must be exclusive of teaching.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Must possess a demonstrated knowledge in the subject matter being taught and the ability to communicate with students in a clear manner and to author tests and lesson plans.
+ Must possess the ability to provide academic and vocational guidance to students as needed.
+ Demonstrated managerial and organizational skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
+ Ability to write instructional materials for online delivery.
+ Extensive Internet skills.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in one or more of the following is required.
+ Programming skills and use of Visual Studio . NET , Visual Basic, HTML and CSS , C++, C#, and JAVA
+ Information Technology Security to include cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and IT security auditing.
+ Computer Networks to include administration, maintenance, and implementation.
+ The following is preferred:
+ Master’s Degree in Information Technology from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field.
+ Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
+ Certification in one or more of the following:
+ CISSP
+ CompTIA Security+
+ CompTIA Network+
+ CompTIA A+
+ Microsoft MCSA 2008 or higher
