JOB DESCRIPTION:
The UTMB Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary Clinical Care and Sleep Medicine is seeking a visionary Division Chief to lead a growing, ambitious, multi-site Division. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience with documented leadership in two or more of the following domains: clinical care; education; or research. Candidates must also have a demonstrated record of progressive leadership and administrative experience, having the ability to lead a diverse group of faculty while overseeing existing and developing new programs. The Chief will work closely with the Department Chair of Internal Medicine to develop the strategic vision for the Division that aligns with Department and Institutional goals and objectives. The Division has undergone substantial growth over the past 5-years, moving from serving two hospitals on Galveston Island to 4 campuses across Southeastern Texas. Moving forward the next Division Chief will have the opportunity to further strengthen the clinical programs, the educational fellowship and expand research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
M.D. or D.O. degree. Completion of a U.S. Internal Medicine Residency program. Completion of a Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship Program. U.S. Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Critical Care. Possession or ability to possess an unrestricted Texas State Medical License.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Provide leadership and direction in expanding clinical services within the division. An aptitude for collaboration, innovation, and program development. Must be an advocate of the University’s academic, clinical, teaching and research missions. Must possess effective written and oral communications skills and work well in a team environment.SALARY:
