The Division of Social Science at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is inviting applications for a tenured or tenure-track position in Computational Social Science. Your tenure home would be in the program in the Division of Social Science (https://nyuad.nyu.edu/en/academics/divisions/social-science/academic-programs.html) closest to your training–Economics, Political Science, or Social Research and Public Policy (SRPP contains faculty in sociology and policy). The position entails teaching in one of these undergraduate majors, as well as teaching in the newly approved MSc program in Interdisciplinary Data Science and AI. The position features a teaching load of three courses per year.
As NYUAD is a research university, we seek applicants with an active research agenda in any area of computational social science, including but not limited to “big data” collection, management, and visualization; natural language processing and machine learning; network analysis; simulations and advanced statistical methods for descriptive and causal inference in the social sciences; and applications of social science to AI or social science studies of impacts of AI. We are especially interested in scholars who work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and environments. All candidates should demonstrate important contributions to their area of research.

This position requires a Ph.D. in social or behavioral science or a related field.
