Campus Date Position Available 09/16/2024 Posted Salary $65,000 to $71,500 FLSA Status Exempt Benefits Eligible Yes If yes, please select: Position Summary Information Position Summary This position is a full-time Professor of Practice faculty appointment in the Nursing department at Utica University. Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in the ABSN nursing program, but dependent upon the needs of the department. While the full complement of duties is determined in consultation with the Program Director, Chair of Nursing Programs, and the Dean of Health Professions & Education, this position is based primarily on the needs of the specific programs and personnel being served; the basic qualifications and responsibilities are as follows. Oversight in the curriculum delivery of the program: Oversight of designated courses in the program. Collaborate with other nursing faculty for curriculum development, delivery and program assessment. Maintain online and on campus courseshells as consistent with the nursing faculty expectations. Act as course coordinator for designated courses. This includes collaborating with adjunct faculty and working closely with Directors of Programs in Nursing. Coordinate with lab and clinical faculty regarding policies, procedures, and grading for designated courses. B. Teaching: Teaching duties will be established in consultation with Dean of Health Professions & Education. Adherence to the Best Practices document to establish a productive, engaging, on-line and on campus learning environment is essential. C. Service: Service responsibilities will be established in consultation with Dean of Health Professions and Education and may include advising, holding regular office hours, participating in all regular departmental activities, including curriculum development, assessment, planning, publicity and other related duties; participation on standing or ad hoc committees, special events and, representation of the College and its programs to the larger community. Additional responsibilities and/or specific responsibilities toward service may be created periodically through separate contracts. D. Accountability: Report directly to the Dean of Health Professions & Education. Attend College and School meetings and events as outlined by the AAUP -UC contract and Department (in person and/or by phone). Make recommendations to the faculty regarding updating curriculum in the areas of course oversight. E. May perform other related duties as assigned, including participating on committees, teams, or task forces. Driving Responsibilities N/A Travel May require travel between ABSN site locations Supervises No supervisory duties. Education Required Certification Required Education & Experience Qualifications Must have current New York State Registered Professional Nursing license. M.S. in Nursing required from accredited nursing program. Preferred earned doctorate in Nursing or related field (or in progress). At least five years’ experience in critical care clinical nursing. At least three years teaching experience in baccalaureate or higher degree nursing education. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in virtual instruction using a variety of learning management systems. Minimum Skills/Abilities Must possess well-developed writing and verbal skills. Must have knowledge and skills in Medical Surgical and Critical Care.
