Job Description:

Ready to put your scientific expertise to work in detecting biological threat agents, both natural and man-made domestically and across the globe? We are seeking a Program Administrator to support and facilitate biological research for the rapid detection of infectious diseases of global importance and the enhancement of global disease surveillance for early pathogen detection and response. This position resides at Fort Detrick in Fredrick, MD and will support the Biological Defense Research Directorate (BDRD) in the Molecular Diagnostics (MD) Department.

Responsibilities:

Supports research and development, reagent production and quality management of molecular diagnostics, including, but not limited to production of real-time polymerase chain reaction assays, molecular assay development and platform test and evaluation, provide and evaluate proficiency testing for biological threats, laboratory and field support for biological threat agent detection.

Education/Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant administrative field or biological sciencesExperience:3 years practical experience in research program administration of biological sciences is considered essentialExperience in the execution of a complex laboratory programs to include laboratory operations, project management, procurement of laboratory supplies/reagents, assisting the principal investigator with the preparation of SOPs and other relevant lab/project documents, preparation of procurement documents, and interfacing with support offices such as the technology transfer office, safety, budget, travel, legal, security, and facilities in pursuit of Principal investigator approvalMust currently possess or be able to pass all criteria for Secret security clearance

Salary Range: 

$70,500.00 - $123,400.00
