Job Description

Per program requirements, only candidates who are residents of the State of Michigan will be considered.

The Program Analyst supports activities, helps generate ideas, and acquires inputs from cross-functional teams across the organization in order to research, develop, and design innovative energy efficiency pilot programs and business cases. The Program Analyst is also responsible to research energy efficiency technologies, field tests and new go-to-market solutions, including both electric and gas-saving solutions.

The Program Analyst will support a Program Manager as they lead cross-functional teams to identify appropriate measures and approaches, develop budgets and pricing, and document impacts in support of solution design.The successful applicant will have demonstrated an ability to take responsibility and operate with limited direction to deliver thorough analyses in time-pressured situations.Client management will also be expected, and prior experience in a client-facing role is necessary.The Program Analyst must be able to work effectively with members of many internal teams, including business development, operations/delivery, engineering, marketing, and information technology. Successful collaboration and accountability to one another ultimately ensures achievement of CLEAResult’s performance objectives.

Experience Preferred:

Demonstrated success supporting cross-functional teams to develop business cases, deliver pilots or complete energy market and environmental studiesDemonstrated expertise in program design, evaluation and utility needs in regulated energy marketsKnowledge of budget development, measure modeling and forecastingKnowledge of all disciplines required to deliver electric and gas saving solutions across residential and commercial sectors, along with the capacity to add value across the chain of resources required to deliver those programsExperience in energy efficiency, renewable energy or related technologies concepts, practices, and procedures (4+ years.)Some financial and market analysis experience and the ability to organize, document and present results in a clear and coherent fashion to both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong critical thinking, research and time management skillsStrong interest in innovation, demonstrated ability to think creativity and ask questions, curiousBachelor's degree in environmental science, energy analysis, building science, architecture, sustainability science, engineering, statistics, economics, or studies that have a basis in analysis

Responsibilities Include:

Project Management and Development of Pilot Business CasesThe Program Analyst will support the Program Manager in assessing inputs and insights from Clients, customers, external sources, Regional Delivery Leads, as well as cross-functional teams to as needed during solutioning for new opportunities or for refinements in existing pilots and solutionsThe Program Analyst will support the development of multiple pilot program ideas and subsequent designs, and will lead this effort through delivering direct research, localized insights gained from the market, and by working with other teammatesThe Program Analyst will support the hand-off (aka Handshake) from a approved pilot to the Program Delivery team during project / pilot start-up

General SME Skills:

Serves as a researcher for innovative and emerging technologies and solutionsAbility to work with Clients, Product Managers, Marketing team, and other stakeholders to refine proposed pilot inputs based on expertiseWorks with Information Technology team to specify digital functionality that will enhance proposed pilot solutionsWorks with Engineering to formulate market-appropriate and cost-effective measure mix by combining existing and new measures and conducting analyses consistent with applicable regulationProvides support for pilot designs including developing technical specifications for measures that are appropriate to the marketUnderstands evaluation risks associated with measures and associated subject matter, and helps to develop and communicate strategies to mitigate risks during pilot designCapable of reviewing filings, utility commission documents, and evaluator documents for technical findings and incorporating learnings into new solutionsDevelop knowledge and expertise across a range of solutions with cross-training on the entire product suite

Solutioning in support of Pilot Development:

Accountable for supporting solution design of multiple pilot concepts and detailing for each, the proposed scope, budget, and rationale for Clients to approve each pilot business casesHelp to localize pilots to meet specific Client and Geographic needsSupport the direct development of proposed specifications, pricing considerations and key delivery terms.Ensure that proposed pilot solutions are matched with the specific customer needs and that the corresponding value proposition is incorporated into the business caseResponsible for working with teams to finalize product specifications and support their successful development and delivery

Market Analysis & Research:

Work with the market intelligence team on market segments relevant to a range of pilot ideas

Conduct research into new and emerging technologies, opportunities and go-to-market approaches

Remain informed about developments in the government, economic, scientific, political, industrial, and international fields as they apply to the future of the market

Organize information to assist in analyzing future measures and make recommendations for the development of new measures

Analyze and help to translate consumer and market insight into actionable strategies and tactics

Target Compensation:

$60,000 - $65,000
