Job Overview
Reviews and analyzes applications for Economic Transformation and/or Community Development Programs, including tax incentives, grants, small business products, real estate, clean energy initiatives, and Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology programs. Ensures application adherence to program requirements, conducting legal and financial compliance checks and overall review of materials submitted in support of application.Partners with internal and external stakeholders to obtain complete and correct application materials.$65,484 - $81,855
Note: The NJEDA currently offers a hybrid work schedule for up to 2 days of telecommute work from home. To participate, you will be required to have high speed home internet access and a manager's approval. This program does not supersede the "New Jersey First Act", which requires newly hired NJEDA employees to establish and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
ResponsibilitiesDuties
Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:
Utilizes MS Dynamics CRM to evaluate applications, verify materials submitted, and generate documents and reportsAnalyzes each application thoroughly to determine qualification for program and ensure legal and financial complianceFollows up with Product Team and/or applicant for incomplete or incorrect documentsMust complete annual self-assessment as required.Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.Projects:
Assists with preparation of NJEDA Board delegation memoranda Makes recommendations for continued process improvementsGoals and Objectives:
Decision – by either approving/recommending approval, or declining/recommending declination or withdrawal – the designated number of applications across programsMaintain an appropriate balance of accuracy and efficiency in workflowCollaboration and Cross-Divisional Interaction:
Work closely with Product Owners at all stages of program development and implementationPartner with other departments such as Legal, Closing, and Accounting to effectively move applications and programs to completionReporting Structure:
Reports to Director of Product Operations, but may also be mentored by and assigned tasks by Team Lead QualificationsSkills and Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of finance, accounting, and investment products preferredExceptional analytical skills with a keen focus on details and audit trailsUnderstanding of the capital structure of technology companies, with a focus on third party investorsSoft Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a broad range of audiencesMust be a critical thinker and possess rigorous analytical capabilities. Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize under competing deadlinesDemonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer-focused work environmentCertifications: none
Experience:
2-5 years relevant experience preferred (government, banking, finance, project management)Advanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experienceEducation:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Public Policy, or related fields, and/or equivalent experienceSoftware/Tools Proficiency:
NJEDA utilizes Microsoft as the core application platform and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses Required
Staff are required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essentials duties of the position.
