The primary purpose of this position is to perform a wide range of MAJCOM-level Inspector General (IG) duties associated with planning and executing The Inspection System (TIS) of the Department of the Air Force activities focused on assessing Center and Wing health, unit readiness, and adherence with critical policy and guidance. Responsibilities 1. Performs a wide range of MAJCOM-level Inspector General (IG) duties associated with planning and executing The Inspection System (TIS) of the Department of the Air Force activities focused on assessing Center and Wing health, unit readiness, and adherence with critical policy and guidance. 2. Plans, coordinates, and conducts surveys, interviews, continual evaluations, and remote/onĀ­site inspections under TIS construct. Leads all facets of inspections and evaluations to include establishing exercise tasks, expected timelines, and results. Identifies key personnel and functions for inspections and evaluations. 3. Mentors and trains augmentee and associate inspectors, unit personnel, and Pertinent Oversight Authorities (POA) on proper interpretation of policy and processes. Communicates detailed inspection-related findings and analyses to HQ AFMC Directorates/Functional Staff during post-inspection activities to effect improvements. 4. As MAJCOM-level Action Officer, develops training aids to augment POA and unit personnel understanding of inspection guidance. Facilitates cooperation across AFMC organizations to resolve controversial matters. Develops and prepares a variety of correspondence and other documentation, such as formal letters, position papers, reports, staff studies, staff summary packages, briefings, charts, bullet background papers, etc. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience researching, interpreting, analyzing, and applying regulations, policies, and directives pertaining to Air Force inspections and Inspector General inspections and information management system processes, principles, and procedures. Candidate must also possess experience pertaining to cybersecurity. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, instructions, and issues related to the IG inspection and information management system processes, principles, and procedures. 2. Highly skilled in interpersonal relations at multiple command levels. 3. Skill in planning, scheduling, and conducting analyses, and inspection interviews. 4. Highly skilled in oral communications. 5. Ability to research, interpret, analyze, and apply regulations, policies, and directives pertaining to Air Force inspections to include DAFI 90-302, The Inspection System of the Department of the Air Force, and the AFMC Inspector General supplement. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with diverse groups of people at various IG and/or Command levels. 7. Knowledge and ability to use automation work tools to input, evaluate, and analyze inspection-related information. 8. Ability to plan and organize work to meet deadlines. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
