Program and Logistics Officer |PIPP
Commencement: January 2025  Long term role, based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea Open to PNG Citizens 

 

About the Program 

The Institutional Partnerships Program (IPP) commenced in 2017 and continues Australia’s long history in providing government-to-government assistance and institutional strengthening in PNG. 

From April 2022 the PNG IPP has been designed as a standalone investment implemented by Abt Associates (Abt) working closely with DFAT, Whole of Government (WoG) partners and Government of PNG counterpart agencies. 

The program will be focussed on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Australian Government Entity (AGE) officials in PNG and supporting DFAT and AGE to maximise the benefits from government-to-government relationships in line with the principles of Comprehensive Strategic and Economic Partnership (CSEP) and Partnerships for Recovery, while also assisting AHC to leverage AGE experience into other DFAT investments.

Abt will provide program management and logistics support to WoG agencies participating in the PIPP. There are a small number of other Australian agencies working on sectoral programs who may access logistics services provided under the agreement between DFAT and the Abt.

Abt will provide core management services across:

a. Program Implementation and Management

b. Deployment Support and Logistics; and 

c. PIPP Operations Management.

 

About the Opportunity

The Program & Logistics Coordinator will ensure mobilisation services and standards defined through the DFAT HRM (OCOS) and PIPP Operations Manual are met for all deployees and dependants as well as oversee and support a standard operating environment that allows for reliable remote communications support.

 

Key responsibilities 

Ensuring the efficient organisation of all required transport arrangements for the nominated deployee and approved dependants, as tasked by the Home Agency.  Organising transportation of personal effects.  Assist with procurement functions to ensure support to deployees is delivered in a timely effective and cost-efficient manner.  Assist with small value procurement of PIPP fixed assets and consumables.  Support the communications functions for mobile and IT streams and monitor and report usage Any other duties allocated for program and logistics support

PIPP Team Leader  Security Operations Manager PIPP Senior Management Team  Australian Government Deployees and dependants Security provider; and  Any other key third-party providers

 

About You 

For applications to be considered, a response to the key selection criteria below must be provided. 

Appropriate qualifications - degree or relevant qualifications in administration or a related discipline is preferred. Demonstrated understanding of logistics and procurement (desirable) Demonstrated three years relevant experience in logistics and administration in support of program delivery within complex environments. Demonstrated ability to proactively deliver results for the program. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-cultural team. Demonstrated commitment to promoting gender equity and social inclusion in all aspects of this role. Excellent administrative and operational skills and experience, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel with good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
