Program and Project Management Lead

An exciting new opportunity is now available for an experienced Program and Project Management Lead to join our team in a permanent role, based in Sydney.

As a senior leader in our Transformation and Change function, you’ll play a crucial role in driving ING’s growth, development, and achievement of strategic objectives. You’ll collaborate closely with leaders and teams across one or more Business Units to achieve excellence and enable success. Additionally, you’ll report to the Head of Transformation, who reports to the COO.

Your primary purpose is to drive excellence in the program and project management capability to enable lasting impact through well-executed delivery.
 

What you’ll do

Be a trusted partner to business stakeholders, working with Executive Sponsors, Initiative Owners, Tribes and Centres of Excellence to enable successful delivery with experience, discipline and expertise.Lead and develop a high-performing team of professionals, ensuring a pipeline of talent, balancing internal and external resources to offer diverse experience and abilities to support execution of our varied portfolio.Act as the guild leader for all Program and Project Managers across ING, providing practice leadership and embedding lessons learned from retrospectives and post implementation reviews.Support the design and mobilisation of cross-tribe and complex initiatives, including digital transformation, process improvement, regulatory & risk and change management and adoption of technology capabilities.Support execution by removing impediments, ensuring swift escalation of delivery issues through portfolio wide channels and in recovery of at-risk programs.Collaborate with the Organisational Change and Capabilities Hub team to evolve project management and delivery governance, standards and artefacts and streamline execution.Build a culture of agility and accountability within the team, ensuring team members are focused on achieving business outcomes, continuously learning and are open to evolving their practices.

What we’re looking for

Proven experience working across the organisation engaging with teams and leaders, including Board level and influencing them on program design and execution.Business acumen, ability to understand key business drivers and how to support execution of strategic objectives.Expert program management skills and demonstrated understanding of related disciplines including risk, assurance, change management and benefits management.Strong experience in planning, controlling and implementing projects and programs in diverse domains.Demonstrated experience utilising both agile and waterfall methodologies to successfully deliver projects.Experience in applying a structured methodology and leading change management activities.Experience building and coaching high performing teams.
