Position Summary:
This position is designed for students in the B.A.(Education) - Major in Education in Global Contexts program. Under the supervision of the Associate Director, Student Involvement, the Education Intern will play a vital role in enhancing and refining educational content and resources for the McGill Mentorship Network, AskMcGill, and McGill Essentials initiatives. The intern will assess, update, and design training materials to improve clarity, engagement, and usability. By collaborating with stakeholders and curating educational resources, the intern will contribute to fostering an inclusive and impactful learning experience for students at McGill.
 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Training Module Evaluation and Enhancement:

Review existing educational content for relevance, clarity, and user engagement.Identify and propose updates to training materials aligned with best practices in mentorship and student support.Implement approved changes to content, including video and written resources.

Resource Development and Curation:

Develop user-friendly guides, checklists, and templates for mentorship programs.Curate supplemental learning materials, such as articles, videos, and case studies.Collaborate with past student mentors to capture best practices and insights.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Engage with program stakeholders to gather feedback on resources and training materials.Ensure continuous improvement based on user needs and recommendations.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of updates and enhancements to training modules.Prepare a final report summarizing contributions, insights, and recommendations for long-term improvements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Currently registered as a full-time student in B.A.(Education) and eligible to register for EDGC 398 Internship: Education in Global Contexts. Will be a returning full-time student in Fall 2024.Work Study qualified, preferred but not compulsory.Spoken French, an asset.

As a Training and Resource Development Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn and/or develop skills in the following areas:

Develop skills in creating and improving educational content for diverse learners.Gain experience in planning and managing training projects.Build skills in gathering feedback and collaborating with stakeholders.Learn to curate and produce helpful educational resources.Improve abilities to document processes and suggest improvements.
