Program Assistant/Driver

Position Summary
Transports and/or arranges transportation services for Adult Day Care (ADC) clients safely and efficiently. Provides a clean and caring atmosphere for clients and assists with activities of daily living, recreational activities and providing back up clerical and housekeeping support.
Minimum Qualifications
Work Experience
Two years of work experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Education High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Certifications/Licensure Valid Driver's License required. Motor vehicle record check required and will be performed annually. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Job Specific Performance Standards The duties listed below are a summary of the major essential functions of this position. Performs client care duties (i.e. serving and recording meals, toileting, and assistance with ambulation) with attention to client safety and comfort. Operates ADC vehicle in the delivery of clients with attention to patient safety and comfort. Operates wheelchair lift. Assists clients in and out of vehicle utilizing proper body mechanics. Adheres to driving laws and regulations and assures safe operation of vehicle. Conducts general maintenance checks on company vehicle. Reports maintenance issues. Maintains record of maintenance checks. Schedules transportation routes and cab service as needed. Leads and participates in recreational activities. Maintains cleanliness and working condition of ADC vehicle in accordance with owner’s manual and with regard to safety standards. Establishes positive relationships with community agencies (i.e. cab company, nursing home staff, physician offices) to represent program.
