Job Description

SUMMARY: 

Reporting to the Associate Director for the Disability Resource Center, Bloomfield of Montclair State University the Program Associate assists the Associate Director with work related to ensuring students receive support and accommodations in compliance with ADA regulations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Acts as a receptionist and point of contact for the DRC.

Assists the Associate Director with maintaining and tracking data regarding student clients and student employees.

Proctors exams and coordinates note-taking services; maintains note taking service on Blackboard.

Coordinates student adaptive text requests, including assigning scanning to student workers.

Processes contracts and timekeeping for all the DRC part-time employees.

Maintains an organized filing system for all the DRC files and forms.

Assists with maintenance and orders of office equipment and supplies for the office.

Schedules appointments and maintains calendars of all CITEL staff; schedule rooms as needed for proctoring.

Types and files correspondence and meeting notes; processes vouchers, purchase orders, payments and billing and expense forms for the DRC.

Assists with the maintenance of confidential files and exams, including the secure pick-up and delivery of exams.

Assist with the recruitment and training of note-takers and proctors.

Attends and represents the DRC at various campus wide events.

Assists with updating Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis.

Excellent organizational skills, communication & interpersonal skills.

Computer literacy, as well as the ability to learn other computer applications and assistive technology as needed.

PREFERRED:

Strong sense of ethics and integrity, particularly with respect to confidentiality and legal matters.

*NOTE: This is a Civil Service position.  As required by the State of New Jersey, in order to be certified to the position and attain permanent status in title, candidates are required to successfully serve a 4-Month Working Test Period.

SALARY RANGE: P16: $49,738.97 - $69,977.54 *NOTE: Salaries for internal candidates are determined by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission’s formula. Salaries for external candidates are determined up to step four, $56,485.16.
