Position Information Posting Number 20113054 Position Title Program Coordinator, STAR Services FTE 1.0 Position Type Staff Department Center for Academic Success Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function About This Role: The Program Coordinator is a full-time professional staff position responsible for managing Student Tutoring and Retention ( STAR ) Services short-term programming, transition programming, including student transition initiatives, peer mentoring, skill development workshops, and other programming related to student success academic support. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic Enrichment of STAR Services, this role requires a demonstrated ability to excel in a student-facing position within a highly dynamic and ambiguous environment. Key responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and training student success mentors; developing program materials and event agendas; training and supervising student workers and graduate assistants; managing program marketing and data; and serving as the point of contact in the Assistant Director’s absence. Expected outcomes include improved student transition experiences, enhanced peer mentoring, increased engagement in workshops and events, and successful execution of academic programming initiatives. What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities: + Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Hourly Student Workers, Graduate Assistants, and Student Assistants. + Lead initiatives related to academic support activities, including transition, peer mentoring, learning and skill development workshops, speaker series, and related events for undergraduate students. + Coordinate the outreach, marketing and promotion of programs and events. + Advance partnerships with multiple departments and individuals across campus . + Assists the Assistant Director of Academic Enrichment with assessing, evaluating, and growing programs. + Provide academic support presentations and workshops to the campus and students. + Utilize university-approved software and systems for data management and collection. + Participate in professional development and student success research. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Regular physical attendance required.
