POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and coordination of Counselor Techs within the residential substance abuse treatment program. This role ensures that Counselor Techs provide consistent, supportive, and structured client engagement, adhere to daily schedules, and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residents. The Coordinator also ensures proper documentation, shift coverage, and communication between staff and clinical team members. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Supervise and support all Counselor Tech staff, including scheduling, timekeeping, training, and performance feedback. Monitor staff adherence to client supervision protocols, facility rules, and residential schedules (e.g., meals, groups, recreation, chores, medication line). Coordinate shift coverage to ensure 24/7 staff presence and minimize staffing gaps. Conduct regular walkthroughs of the facility to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with program standards. Ensure daily shift change meetings are occurring and ensure accurate communication and handoff between shifts. Provide or coordinate ongoing training for Counselor Techs, including de-escalation, documentation, client engagement, medication procedures, and safety protocols. Review daily logs, incident reports, and shift documentation for accuracy and follow-up. Act as the first point of contact for Counselor Techs regarding on-shift concerns, emergencies, or client issues, escalating to the Program Director or clinical team as needed. Collaborate with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure Counselor Techs support treatment objectives and maintain a therapeutic milieu. Assist with onboarding and orientation of new Counselor Techs.
