What we want The Program Coordinator I is responsible for providing professional and specialized skills for event planning and developing, implementing, and managing student development programs, activities, and/or services. Annual domestic travel with students is a required component of the position. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience + Two years’ experience in student affairs work or related specialty area with a bachelor’s degree + One years’ experience in student affairs work or related specialty area with a master’s degree Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in humanities, social science, or related area, or master’s degree in student affairs, student development, or related field + Previous experience in providing educational programming, community-building, and enriching student experiences Responsibilities: Engagement Initiatives + Manages overall coordination and operations for department programs that engage new and first-year students to campus, including the fall and spring MSC Open House (in coordination with MSC Programs marketing team), the annual MSC Program’s Howdy Week event, and new student conference resource table coordination. + Responsible for all logistics, advertisement, risk management, evaluation, budget management, and development efforts of each program. Serves as a member of the Howdy Week Coordination Committee. Annual Travel Program + Coordinates the annual MSC J. Wayne Stark Northeast Tour (8-day trip with students to the Northeastern U.S.). This position will accompany students, along with one or more other staff members, for the duration of travel + Responsible for all logistics, advertisement, selection, risk management, evaluation, budget management, and development efforts of the travel program Development Event Management + Coordinates department tailgates prior to select home football games, as well as semesterly city-centric development events + Responsible for strong communications, including written, verbal, and interpersonal, with former students and current or potential donors + Provides assistance and support to enhance and improve the effectiveness of development relation activities for MSC Programs + Works closely with the DSA Development Office and/or the Texas A&M Foundation for program and donor assistance Departmental Awards and Recognition + Ensures that the department and departmental staff are recommended for division, university, and professional organization awards and recognition + Works with department staff to coordinate nomination packets and ensures timely submission of nominations + Hosts annual department staff recognition events to celebrate semester achievements and special staff service to the department Administration + Contributes to MSC Programs department meetings, as well as division staff meetings + Maintains comprehensive files and records + Adheres to University policy and procedures + May attend or present at local/regional conferences and campus meetings + Participates on various university and division standing and ad hoc committees as assigned and assumes responsibility for specific projects for the Department and/or Division of Student Affairs as requested Why Texas A&M University?
