The Remote Online Initiative (ROI) is a Utah State University Extension program designed to expand economic opportunities and workforce readiness in rural areas through specialized remote work training. Created to meet specific employment needs, the program provides resources, courses, and support to help individuals transition into better jobs. ROI program coordinators, located throughout Utah, play a vital role in delivering program content and guiding participants in developing essential skills for employment in the digital economy.
This position reports to the Associate Program Director and may also involve overseeing and training hourly employees, student workers, volunteers, and graduate students.

Responsibilities Manage and update Canvas LMS content to align with current course materials and ROI objectives.Collaborate with program leadership and other coordinators to incorporate new learning tools and resources for an engaging student experience.Host weekly virtual Help Desk sessions to assist participants with coursework, technology, and program requirements.Address participant inquiries, provide guidance on resources, and offer timely feedback on assignments.Moderate virtual workshops on Zoom, ensuring smooth session flow, participant engagement, and technical support.Facilitate breakout rooms, Q&A sessions, and polls to enhance workshop interaction and learning outcomes.Oversee the promotion of in-person and virtual events using event management tools to increase visibility and engagement.Design and implement marketing strategies for ROI events and courses via email newsletters, website, and social media.Develop and distribute regular updates on program developments, course schedules, and success stories through newsletters.Maintain ROI’s online presence by regularly updating website and social media content with program milestones and testimonials.Engage with ROI affiliate partners to provide ongoing support, resources, and alignment with program goals.Assist in affiliate onboarding, offering training on course facilitation, participant engagement, and workshop moderation.Track participant engagement and performance data to support evaluations of knowledge gains and remote employment outcomes.Collect and analyze feedback to inform program improvements and support ROI’s workforce development objectives. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Associate degree plus two years of related work experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is requireStrong written, oral, organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse communityExcellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce (database), and Canvas (learning management system)Candidate must be extremely reliable due to the job requirements which occur outside of the regular work weekKnowledge of USU policies and procedures a plusKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
