+ Monday- Friday 830am-5pm **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION** The Neurological Surgery Clinic at UW Medical Center - Montlake is an international leader and pioneer in the care and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves.We take a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to complex neurosurgical problems such as tumors, degenerative disease, vascular lesions, epilepsy, spinal anomalies, peripheral nerve disorders, chronic pain and spasticity, movement disorders and developmental defects. **RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Review and prioritize incoming referrals from multiple sources using their knowledge of each physician’s specialized skill set
+ Triage incoming referrals to assure the appropriate specialist will be reviewing referrals
+ Handle intake of each referral requests, ensuring complete information is received and entered into the electronic medical record system in a timely manner
+ Coordinates appointments for the patient at the appropriate facility and assists with urgent insurance authorization or financial assistance
+ Manage and resolve a high volume of phone inquiries and messages
+ Review appointment follow-up requirements and expectations with patients. Educate them to ensure adequate understanding of the purpose of each appointment and follow-up recommendations
+ Offer financial assistance to self-pay and underinsured patients
+ Serve as a primary program contact to other departments, patients, providers outside facilities **QUALIFICATIONS**
+ High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty
+ Three years of Patient Support Service experience **OR**
