Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit The Office of Campus Activities and Programs is a department within the Division of Student Affairs at UNC Greensboro (UNCG). The mission of the Office of Campus Activities & Programs (CAP) is to provide opportunities for students to create meaningful relationships, explore interests, and develop a sense of self and an appreciation for their community. We support opportunities for transformative learning through involvement. We encourage participation and engagement in student groups; planning, executing, and experiencing campus events and programs; and fostering leadership in the community are cornerstones of involvement. Specific departmental responsibilities include the coordination of student group affiliation, student group leadership and training development, campus wide programming, and administrative advising of select student groups including Activities and Campus Events (ACE), Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Student Government Association (SGA), and the Student Media Board. Additional responsibilities include planning major campus traditions such as Rawkin Welcome Weeks, Minerva’s Middays, Homecoming, Fraternal Leadership Institute, Winterfest, the Spartans of Excellence banquet, SOAR presentations for new students, and other traditional programs. Position Summary Under the direction of the Associate Director for Student Groups and Programming, the Program Coordinator for Campus Activities & Programs (CAP) is responsible for programming based on a regularly scheduled assessment of student needs. The Program Coordinator’s responsibilities are carried out through the teaching, training, and empowerment of students and they may be required to work frequent evening, late-night, and weekend hours during the academic year and engage in planning and assessment during the remaining weeks of the year. Minimum Qualifications A Master’s in Student Personnel, Student Development, Educational Administration, or a closely related field by start date OR a Bachelor’s degree and three years directly related experience working with student activities and campus programming. Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Student Development, Educational Administration, or a closely related field by start date and one year full time experience working with student activities, student groups, and campus programming.  Graduate assistantship experience will be considered.  Experience and comfort in working in a multicultural environment and a commitment to the value of student activities as an experiential learning process. Percentage Of Time 45% Key Responsibility Programming Essential Tasks Responsible for directly advising the UNCG student programming board, Activities and Campus Events (ACE), while modeling program planning skills to student leaders within the organization and providing guidance for a well-balanced and varied co-­curricular program for the entire campus.  This includes creating, planning, promoting, and sponsoring programs such as major concerts, parties, festivals, carnivals, movies, and more and negotiating contracts with agents, vendors, and performers.  The Program Coordinator also supports the implementation of CAP programs through Rawkin’ Welcome Weeks, Homecoming, Winterfest, and other traditional programs. Percentage Of Time 20% Key Responsibility Supervision Essential Tasks Supervises two master’s level graduate assistants who support in the advising and training of the ACE programming board and are responsible for the planning and implementation of ACE and CAP traditional programs. Percentage Of Time 15% Key Responsibility Social Media/Marketing Essential Tasks Collaborates with the CAP staff and ACE students to promote CAP initiatives and programs, including drafting social media and website content, building registration pages, and ensuring materials are consistent with University and CAP brand standards. Percentage Of Time 10% Key Responsibility Assessment Essential Tasks Designs, administers, and responds to research surveys and evaluations to analyze campus constituents’ needs and interests. Maintains thorough knowledge of State and University policies as they relate to student activities, purchasing, contract negotiations and building operations.  Contributes to the body of knowledge in the student activities and college union field through presentations at regional and national conferences with organizations such as the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) and the Association of College ­International (ACU­I), and through publications in journals such as Campus Activities Programming.
