GENERAL SUMMARY:
Job Overview:
Under the general direction of the Hope on the Horizon Program Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of programs and activities designed to engage and inspire youth enrolled at Hope on the Horizon. This role requires an energetic and compassionate individual who is passionate about youth development and can create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all participants. Also, carries out all job responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles and Strategic Plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Program Planning and Development:
• Design and develop age-appropriate activities, workshops, and events that promote personal growth, teamwork, creativity, and leadership among youth.
• Ensure that activities align with the organization’s mission and support the social, emotional, and educational needs of participants.
• Regularly assess program effectiveness and gather feedback to make improvements.
2. Activity Implementation and Supervision:
• Lead and oversee activities, ensuring a safe, positive, and supportive environment for all youth participants.
• Manage logistics, including scheduling, organizing materials, and coordinating with other staff or volunteers.
• Encourage active participation, teamwork, and positive behavior among participants.
3. Youth Engagement and Support:
• Build strong, trusting relationships with youth participants, acting as a positive role model and mentor.
• Provide guidance and support to youth, addressing any concerns or challenges they may face in a respectful, compassionate manner.
• Foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere that respects diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities.
4. Community Outreach and Partnerships:
• Collaborate with local schools, community organizations, and other partners to promote programs and encourage youth participation.
• Develop partnerships with external organizations to enhance program offerings and resources for youth.
• Represent Hope on the Horizon at community events to build awareness and engage potential participants.
5. Administrative and Reporting Duties:
• Maintain accurate records of program attendance, activities, and outcomes in SmartCare.
• Prepare regular reports on program impact, successes, and areas for growth.
• Provide program insights and success stories.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in a recreational, educational, or community setting.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
• Experience with trauma-informed care or working with at-risk youth.
• Strong organizational skills, creativity, and a passion for working with young people.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).

Position may also require employee to transport clients utilizing an agency vehicle.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training: the ability to drop repeatedly to knees, twist and turn, exert oneself physically at an intense level, and support another adult’s weight.
