What We Want
The Program Coordinator I P9, under supervision, will support the graduate student recruitment efforts of the department and will be responsible for coordinating and planning, development and implementation of the graduate recruiting and application process. The selected candidate will plan and implement specialized activities and projects to facility the Graduate Student Program goals.
What You Need to Know
+ Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience
+ Schedule: The selected candidate must be able to work nights and/or weekends as required to complete assigned tasks
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Two years of program coordination and administration experience, including some event planning experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
+ Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students
+ Knowledge of event planning
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Three or more years of program coordination/administrative experience with a student-centric program
+ Experience taking an idea from inception to implementation and creating, planning, and facilitating events, workshops, and programming
+ Ability to collect and analyze data for use in developing appropriate programming
+ Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
+ Graduate Admissions Processing and Assessment: Assists the faculty Graduate Advisor and faculty Graduate Recruiting Coordinator with all aspects of admissions programming. Processes and monitors application systems and tracks data collection. Compiles acceptances and declinations of offers. Manages records system for current applicants. Serves as the primary information resource for prospective graduate students. Prepares decision correspondence to applicants and TAMU Graduate Admissions Office. Identifies and recommends program improvements. Compiles and submits University competitive fellowships to the Dean’s Office and the Graduate and Professional School. Organizes and distributes information for Admissions Committee meetings. Serves as an information resource in regard to University admissions procedures. Supervises and trains student worker assistant.
+ Coordination and Planning of Graduate Recruiting and Orientation Events: Plans and implements Graduate Recruitment Weekends (GRW). Arranges visits or virtual visits of students who cannot attend GRW. Plans and implements two-week orientation for new students. Develops timelines, and prepares and monitors budgets for GRW and Orientation. Identifies and recommends program improvements. Oversees publication of yearly New Student Information booklet. Provides materials for availability on the departmental website as well as updates the website as needed. Coordinates other miscellaneous Graduate Office Events.
+ Development of Graduate Recruiting and Professional Development Event Materials: Researches and compiles information, making evaluative judgements on appropriate data to use to provide input for development and revision of Graduate Student Office communication materials.
