Required License/Registration/Certification None. Physical Requirements Lifting, pushing, pulling of objects up to 50lbs., sitting for long periods of time. Participate in, host, assist and/or lead sustainable fruit and vegetable gardening classes and demonstrations. Driving to various locations throughout KY. Shift Primarily days Monday – Friday Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as needed. Job Summary The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment: Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition is currently seeking a Program Coordinator II to coordinate, develop, and implement educational programming for designated projects. This position will oversee and implement the USDA-funded study to support building vibrant food environments, healthy eating, and food security in Laurel County, KY as well as have the opportunity to assist with other similar initiatives within the unit.

NOTE: This position may be based in the Laurel County, KY or on the University of Kentucky Campus in Lexington, KY.

Working under the supervision of the principal investigator, the Program Coordinator will oversee all aspects of assigned projects and Extension programming focused on improving the quality of individual, family and community life through education, research, and outreach.

Successful candidates will be detail-oriented; exhibiting maturity and good judgment; have experience working with community partners and stakeholders; demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks; and will have a work history demonstrating the ability to work independently. Candidates with content knowledge of connecting nutrition, agriculture, and health are strongly encouraged to apply.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Knowledge of and experience with data collection and management as well as process of developing health related or extension related programming. Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and writing skills.
Proficiency MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Masters degree and at least 3 years of research experience.
