What we want
The Program Coordinator II, under general direction, manages the full range of business activities including reviewing and approving business documents and developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts, budgets and other quantitative data.
Essential Duties/Tasks
+ ADMINISTRATION: Provides administrative and financial assistance to the Senior Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies on special projects benefiting TAMUG researchers, research capabilities, and research activities. Participates in planning and coordinating operational procedural matters to meet department goals, objectives, and strategic plans. Monitors compliance with unit, department, University and government standards, policies, and procedures related to research and graduate studies. Multi-media support for departmental activities. Ensures timely updates to the Research and Graduate Studies website via liaison with other units at TAMUG.
+ COORDINATION AND OVERSIGHT: Provide day-to-day coordination with the program coordinator to facilitate training activities, planning projects and programs. Provides assessment of training activities, planning projects and programs to determine on-going needs and best practices for delivering information. Maintain working knowledge of university policies, OMB circulars, federal cost standard and sponsor guidelines (NSF, NIH, DOE, NASA, DHS, and others). Answer regulation and policy questions for faculty (and students) related to research activities. Assist researchers in understanding federal regulations, sponsor guidelines and university policy and how those rules affect the proposal and potential project. Provide and facilitate training sessions to faculty (and graduate students) related to research compliance (i.e., – export control, AUPs, IRB, RCR, either locally or coordination with Sponsored Research Services from the Division of Research at TAMU.
+ PRE-AWARD SUPPORT: Provide support to faculty submitting large proposals with the following resources: team facilitation, management of proposal development processes including the organization of documents, creation of templates, proposal review including review team assessment, the collection of documents such as letters of support and CVs/bio sketches and coordination with Sponsored Research Services to accomplish budget development, compliance review and on-time submission and in compliance of all federal, state and agency guidelines. Provide support to faculty on all other proposals with proposal review, coordination with Sponsored Research Services to accomplish budget development, compliance review and on-time submission and in compliance of all federal, state and agency guidelines. Maintains and develops communication between partners by coordinating and attending meetings and conference calls. Communicates funding opportunities to TAMUG faculty.
+ COMMUNICATION & MEDIA DEVELOPMENT: Develop visually-engaging written reports to document the success, initiatives, and activities of the TAMUG research enterprise, including: research centers, institutes, facilities and laboratories operating under the leadership of TAMUG Primary Investigators. Develop digital or multimedia creative assets to document the TAMUG research enterprise capabilities, competencies, and potential. Designs brochures, signs, newsletters, materials, and other print media as needed to support the strategic plan of Research and Graduate Studies.
+ LIAISON and OTHER: Serve as a liaison between TAMUG and other administrative units such as Office of Sponsored Research Services (SRS) in the Division of Research at TAMU College Station, TEES, TAMU Vice President for Research, etc. This includes providing support for preparation and routing of proposals, award documents and budget revisions. Assists faculty with budget preparation that follows cost accounting standards, Texas A&M University System policies, as well as meet the needs of the proposed project. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Four years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ At least 1 year of experience in a research environment in the public or private sector, can include time spent as an undergraduate or graduate student researcher at an accredited institution of higher education.
