Program Coordinator - Respiratory Therapy Education

As a Program Coordinator, Respiratory Therapy Education, you will be responsible for creating and managing ongoing respiratory therapy curriculum development, in additoin to coordinating clinical educational activities.

You will learn and teach SEVA mechanical ventilation courses, Respiratory Therapy Airway Courses and Simulation Based Education. Caregivers in this role will work at various Cleveland Clinic sites, while working primarily at Main Campus in the Pulmonary department.

This caregiver will be highly involved with RT students who are doing clinical rotations at Cleveland Clinic, and they will be equal parts an educator, researcher and consultant.

A caregiver in this role works days, 8am-5pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Design, revise, and facilitate core curriculum and professional development workshops to support ongoing respiratory education.

Act as a chair member of assigned committees.

Ensure that the educational needs of all shifts are addressed while collaborating with department leadership.

Perform the duties of an RT as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.  

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).  

Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) board licensure.  

3-5 years adult critical care experience.  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Master’s degree in Public Health, Education

Has experience as a clinical preceptor for on-boarding new hires or RT students.

Has the ability to create content for both in person and virtual curriculum and is familiar with LMS tools.

Physical Requirements:

Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment.

Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.

May require sitting, standing, and walking for extensive periods of time.
