Position Number: 003952 Department: School of Professional Studies Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + The Program Director serves as an operational leader for the online BS in Professional Studies and manages online, hybrid, and off-campus academic programs in their portfolio, which may also include noncredit programs aligned with the Professional Studies major. Responsibilities encompass program development, support, student services, compliance, and quality assurance. Duties include faculty recruitment, selection, hiring, and retention; curriculum and course development; budgeting, financial management, and forecasting; admissions, advising strategies, and partnerships; and program performance evaluation. + The Program Director acts as a liaison between the School of Professional Studies and other academic units to ensure high-quality, accessible programs that meet enrollment growth goals. This position oversees marketing and recruitment strategies, data reporting, and competitive analysis, and implements marketing plans and recruitment activities. The role involves managing student support services, conducting orientations, and ensuring effective delivery of academic programs through collaboration with teaching, technology, and support units. + Other responsibilities include facilitating faculty training, monitoring expenditures, managing contracts and grants, and ensuring alignment with institutional standards and accreditation requirements. The Program Director collaborates with industry experts to assess educational needs, design curricula, identify subject matter experts, and explore alignment opportunities for professional and academic credit programs, including micro-credentialing and credit for prior learning. Drives innovation by researching market trends, advancing online learning tools, and promoting high-quality program outcomes. Minimum Experience / Education: + Master’s degree and at least two years of work experience in the administration or direct program management of educational programs. + Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. + Exceptionally strong organizational and analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. + The position requires a strong service orientation and the ability to exercise good judgment in the handling of many sensitive and confidential matters. + Applicants must be experienced in using a personal computer for word processing, spreadsheet, database, and web based applications. + Applicants must have experience in and/or knowledge of: contemporary models for academic online teaching and learning, including the delivery of support services to students remote from the campus, a variety of academic/online technologies, marketing principles and strategies and the delivery of programs online and at off campus sites, and to adult learners. + Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the stated qualifications. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: + Master’s degree in higher education, adult education, educational research/evaluation, or a closely related field. + Work experience in academic/online education at an institution of higher education. + Budgeting experience is desirable.
