Summary
The Director of Contracts and Strategic Sourcing is responsible for identifying, developing, and executing clinical strategic sourcing initiatives that align with Chesapeake Regional Healthcare’s Strategic Plan. This position leads the sourcing team, guiding daily operations, overseeing contract management activities, and building strong vendor relationships to support the organization’s mission. The Director will also manage contract lifecycles, ensuring compliance and timely execution across various contract types, including Service Agreements, Software Licensing, and Purchasing Agreements. Additionally, the role partners with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) to manage portfolios, compliance, and data analytics, driving cost-effective sourcing and enhancing supply chain performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction: Provide oversight and strategic direction for centralized sourcing activities, covering capital, contracts, equipment, supplies, and services. Collaboration and Committee Participation: Actively participate as a member of the Supply Chain Management leadership team and Value Analysis Committee to support supply chain excellence. Standardization: Lead efforts to standardize contracting practices to improve efficiency and compliance across Chesapeake Regional Healthcare. Sourcing Workflow Management: Ensure accuracy and efficiency in product sourcing workflows, from new product introductions to category conversions. System Design and Monitoring: Oversee the design and maintenance of sourcing and procurement systems, centralized contracting, item master, and capital bid calendars. Policy and Compliance Support: Enforce policy adherence, contract compliance, and integrity across all supply chain systems and activities. Financial Controls and Reporting: Establish and maintain controls and reporting systems to provide timely and accurate data for budgeting, financial analysis, and decision-making. Performance Assessment: Regularly evaluate the performance of assigned areas and provide leadership for continuous improvement. Professional Development: Participate in industry-related professional development to stay informed on current trends and maintain expertise in sourcing and contracting. Value Analysis and Negotiation: Lead value analysis initiatives and manage third-party negotiations with system-level teams to optimize sourcing strategies. Team Development: Ensure the development of an effective sourcing strategy and a competent Supply Chain Team through guidance and mentoring.Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: 5 years in contracting and supply chain management, with a demonstrated track record in sourcing strategy and enhanced financial performance within a healthcare setting. A master’s degree in a related discipline may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
