The position supports the combined administrative structure within Women’s and Children’s Services that includes Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Center for Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and the Institute on Development and Disability.
Function/Duties of PositionThe Program Director 1 / Women's and Children's Administrator role is responsible for assessing, analyzing, and providing input and/or recommendations to department leadership to achieve optimal financial and clinical performance, cost efficiency, and business growth. In partnership with the leadership team, associated division heads, and program leaders, this position implements strategic/tactical plans for all mission areas; clinical, research, education, and outreach. This position contributes expert analytical knowledge and is accountable for the development and management of a variety of complex operational and quality data and processes to propel our programs to greater levels of clinical quality. Primary responsibilities include the creation and use of data to drive organizational change and lead working teams to develop and implement best practices across our mission areas. Tools and resources developed as a part of this work will be leveraged as appropriate across other components of Women’s and Children’s Services to further translate operational improvements to service areas.
This position serves on the leadership team to assure alignment across the enterprise as it relates to development and implementation of operational, data, and reporting improvements. This role requires an individual who is highly self-motivated, creative, has strong project management skills, good business and finance skills, and commitment to providing a high level of customer service.
Required Qualifications Masters or PhD required AND 5 years of relvant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration AND 7 years financial management and analysis experience.Experience in project coordination or project management.Experience tracking financial performance.Experience developing and implementing reporting systems .Experience interpreting and implementing policies.Ability to organize, analyze and interpret complex financial and/or organizational data. Knowledge of accounting systems and general accounting principles.Ability to exercise independent judgement in resolving complex problems and presenting solutions. Creativity in problem-solving. Very strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate financial, performance, quality and other issues at multiple levels within the organization.Ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external customers including faculty, department leadership and supporting departments. Demonstrated ability to foster a positive work environment to assure job satisfaction, productivity, and customer service. Ability to function in complex organization.Ability to efficiently and effectively multi-task and manage competing demands. Ability to reprioritize as circumstances require and communicate impacts. Conducts self in a positive and professional manner. Experience and demonstrated skill with computer hardware/software including Microsoft Office products. Must have excellent data management skills.Advanced Microsoft Access skills or other relational database abilities.Experience with faculty compensation models/plans.Excellent Oracle and Discoverer skills.Knowledge of LEAN Principles or other quality improvement strategies, and demonstrated experience applying these strategies. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Finance or Accounting Master’s Degree in Business AdministrationWork experience in an academic health center or comparable large/complex organization.Financial management in a multi-cost center environment.Experience using OneDrive or Smartsheet.Experience in performance improvement.
