+ Schedule: 9AM-5PM, Monday- Friday (weekend/evening as needed)

What Drives This Role:
The Director of the Nassau County Child Advocacy Center (CAC), located in Bethpage, NY, is responsible for the full administrative, operational, and clinical oversight of the Center. Reporting to the Division Director, the CAC Director leads a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach to investigating and treating cases of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse, in compliance with best practices and accreditation standards. The Director serves as the primary liaison to County departments, law enforcement, medical and mental health professionals, and community partners.
The Key Responsibilities of The Program Director:
Leadership & Supervision
+ Oversee the recruitment, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation, and retention of all CAC staff, including those working in Safe Harbour, Human Trafficking, Community Education, and mental health services.
+ Provide direct supervision to project staff across all program areas.
+ Coordinate personnel needs with County and community partners, ensuring sufficient staffing levels to support operations.
Multidisciplinary Coordination
+ Lead and facilitate collaboration among MDT partner agencies including CPS, police, prosecutors, medical and mental health professionals, and victim advocates.
+ Oversee the receipt, assignment, and tracking of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse Convene and participate in Coordination, Planning, and Treatment meetings with County and community stakeholders to develop appropriate intervention and treatment plans.
+ Identify and address interagency issues related to case coordination and service delivery.
Program Operations & Quality Assurance
+ Manage all phases of CAC operations including scheduling, case tracking, and compliance with County contract obligations.
+ Maintain MOUs and interagency protocols with partner agencies to ensure a coordinated response to abuse cases.
+ Oversee program data collection, reporting, and documentation to ensure accuracy and contract compliance.
+ Maintain case-specific activity reports and ensure timely and complete documentation by all staff.
+ Prepare, review, and submit all required narrative and statistical reports.
Accreditation & Compliance
+ Ensure the CAC meets and maintains compliance with OCFS and National Children’s Alliance (NCA) accreditation standards.
+ Lead accreditation and reaccreditation processes, including self-assessments, preparation of supporting documentation, and implementation of corrective actions.
+ Monitor program activities to ensure alignment with evidence-based practices, legal mandates, and ethical standards.
Community Engagement & Education
+ Serve as the primary liaison to County departments, law enforcement, service providers, and the community-at-large.
+ Coordinate and deliver professional training in the area of child sexual abuse to County personnel and other professionals.
+ Collaborate with the Community Educator to align outreach, education, and prevention efforts with CAC goals and county priorities.
Fiscal Oversight
+ Work with finance and senior staff to monitor and manage the CAC operating budget in accordance with EAC and County fiscal guidelines.
Key Requirements For This Role:
+ Master’s Degreein Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in child abuse investigation, case coordination, or human services.
+ Demonstrated experience in interagency coordination and multidisciplinary team leadership.
+ In-depth understanding of child protection laws, investigative protocols, and the civil, criminal, and family court systems.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and crisis management skills.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems.
+ Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
+ Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.
