Diversion Support Services The Diversion Support Services program works with individuals who are incarcerated in Middlesex County and released under bail reform to link them to services, including housing, financial assistance, physical health, and mental health services. The program uses a peer-focused and strengths-based model to transform consumers from surviving to thriving. The ideal candidate will provide individual therapy services, maintain a caseload of up to 20 consumers, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health care. Benefits 3.2 weeks of Paid Time Off during the first year Medical, vision, dental and life insurance 403(b) employee participation and employer match 9 Agency-paid holidays Training opportunities provided throughout the year Salary: $75000 to $85000 / annually - depending upon education / experience / licensure Hours: This position is full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am until 5:00 pm Job Summary The Program Director of Diversion and Outpatient Services provides clinical and operational oversight of both the Criminal Justice Reform (CJR) Mental Health Pilot Diversion Program and all assigned mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) outpatient services. This position is responsible for day-to-day program operations, supervision of multidisciplinary staff, coordination with community and court systems, and ensuring fidelity to program expectations, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements. This role may fulfill functions consistent with the Director of Substance Abuse Counseling (DOSAC) or Administrator, as defined under N.J.A.C. 10:161B, including but not limited to: oversight of clinical care delivery, supervision of staff providing direct services, enforcement of agency policies, regulatory compliance, and leadership in program development and staff performance. Oversee daily operations of the CJR Mental Health Diversion Program across assigned counties. Supervise clinical and support staff, ensuring timely service delivery and compliance with DMHAS, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2. Coordinate screenings, evaluations, and connections to housing, psychiatric care, and legal supports. Serve as the primary liaison with courts, jails, and legal partners. Monitor program performance, submit required reports, and guide quality improvement efforts. Promote trauma-informed, culturally competent care and ensure staff are trained in diversion protocols and documentation standards. MSW from an accredited school of social work or a Master’s in counseling or related behavioral health field. Minimum one year in program management and one year in case management required. Clinical licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive an agency vehicle.
