Get to Know Your Team: UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups. Responsibilities Direct Supervision: Oversee Perfusions, ECMO Director, CT APPs, and CVT Clinic Manager, ensuring effective team operations and continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Program Leadership: Lead ECMO and VAD program growth in collaboration with ECMO and VAD Coordinators, focusing on quality outcomes and integration with care teams. Referral and Outreach Development: Build relationships with referral sources, supporting leadership goals for growth in collaboration with the Physician Outreach (PPRO) team. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Strengthen relationships with Cardiology and other departments to enhance care pathways and coordinate with UTHET physician leadership to optimize clinic schedules and patient access. 5-Year Strategic Plan: Develop and manage a strategic plan with quarterly updates for executive leadership. Volume and Referral Analysis: Track CT surgery volumes and referrals, recommending growth strategies to hospital leadership. Budget Management: Oversee departmental budget in collaboration with a financial analyst to align resources with growth and sustainability goals. Quality Monitoring: Collaborate with the CT Quality Coordinator to develop improvement initiatives based on star ratings and KPIs. Standardization of Best Practices: Collaborate with CT clinical leaders to Implement protocols and best practices across CT surgery to ensure high-quality, consistent care. Advanced Technology Adoption: Lead evaluation and adoption of innovative technologies, including robotic-assisted surgery and EMR-integrated devices, to improve outcomes and clinician workflows. Data-Driven Outcomes: Monitor outcomes, satisfaction, and readmission rates, ensuring alignment with quality and patient-centered goals. Staff Development: Support continuing education for clinical staff, ensuring proficiency in advanced CT and cardiovascular procedures. Community Engagement: Organize educational events for regional providers to enhance referral pathways and raise awareness of CT surgery advancements. Reimbursement Strategy: Optimize reimbursement processes for ECMO, VAD, and CT surgery services to support financial viability. Market Research and Expansion: Conduct market analysis to identify new service lines and growth opportunities, presenting findings to executive leadership. Qualifications Job Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of perfusion technology Three (3) years of experience as a cardiovascular perfusionist Nationally certified and have/be eligible for Texas state licensure. New graduates must obtain national certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion within one year from date of hire Active Basic Life Support (BLS)
