Program Director - Orthopedic Surgery - Salisbury, MD
TidalHealth in collaboration with Peninsula Orthopaedics, on Maryland s beautiful coast, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program Director to join our reputable medical institution. As the Program Director, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the Orthopedic Surgery residency program, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of education and training.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to residents, and contributing to the advancement of orthopedic surgery. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the curriculum, conducting regular evaluations, as well as continuously assessing and improving the program. Additionally, you will collaborate with other faculty members to develop research opportunities and publish academic papers.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the Orthopedic Surgery residency program. Develop and implement the curriculum, ensuring that it meets educational objectives. Provide mentorship and guidance to residents and foster a positive learning environment. Conduct regular evaluations of residents' performance and provide feedback for improvement. Collaborate with other faculty members to develop research opportunities. Publish academic papers and contribute to the advancement of orthopedic surgery. Continuously assess and enhance the program to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.

 

Requirements

Board certification in orthopedic surgery (Orthopedic traumatology preferred but not required.)  Extensive clinical experience in orthopedic surgery. Proven track record of leadership and mentorship. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated commitment to excellence in medical education.

What to expect:  

As a Peninsula Orthopedics team member, forty percent of the time will be dedicated to the development of the residency program in collaboration with TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, adjusting to thirty percent allocation after two years. The remaining sixty to seventy percent of the time will be allocated to traditional clinical practice (inpatient, outpatient, etc). 1:12 call rotation with 24/7 in-hospital PA coverage.  Private practice providing world-class orthopaedic care for over 70 years. Sub-specialty practice with Shoulder, Sports Medicine, Spine, Adult Reconstruction, Hand, podiatry (nonoperative,) and Trauma. Multiple revenue streams including high-volume, high-efficiency ASC (high ancillary income,) physical Therapy and Durable Medical Equipment. 14 Physicians, 19 PAs/NPs, 15 PT/Ots. Hospital among top 5% of all U.S. Hospitals for patient care and outcomes.
