Job DescriptionPilot Company’s professional internship designed to provide on-the-job training and experience to recent college graduates. Engages in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at a professional level, typically identified with a targeted exempt position. Receives training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments. This is a 10-week paid internship program.
We are seeking a highly motivated and inquisitive Continuous Improvement Intern to join our team. In this role, you will gain valuable real-world experience by assisting experienced Lean/Six Sigma Green Belts and Black Belts in various Kaizen activities, conducting data analysis, and applying Lean Six Sigma principles to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support Green Belt projects by assisting with data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
· Participate in Kaizen events, including brainstorming sessions, problem-solving activities, and implementation of improvement solutions.
· Conduct root cause analysis using various tools such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and Pareto charts.
· Assist in the development and implementation of process maps and standard work instructions.
· Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement and track progress towards project goals.
· Prepare presentations and reports summarizing project findings and recommendations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications· Currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
· Must be in the junior or senior year of their academic program (if currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree).
· Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
· Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Excel, R, etc.).
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.
· Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior experience with Lean Six Sigma projects or internships.
· Familiarity with project management tools.
· Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
