The Program Launch Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that project objectives are accomplished within prescribed timelines and funding parameters. 

Responsibilities Reviews blueprints, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or projected changes in production for customer’s use of MEC’s services.  Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. Coordinates the activities of Engineering, Tool Engineering, Production, and other necessary teams on various critical orders to ensure delivery consistent with customer requirements. Identifies and manages key risks, issues, and roadblocks. Creates and maintains good working relationships with all customer contacts. Responds to customer requests for information (quotes, project information, and general information) promptly. Promote MEC’s Design for Manufacturing (DFM) capabilities to reduce part cost. Reports to Management on trends or changes occurring to customers, prospects, and/or manufacturing metal products. Provide estimated costs to sales for new projects and changes to existing. Completes other duties as assigned.  Qualifications

Job Skills Requirements 

Working knowledge of process improvement principles, such as Lean or Six Sigma. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving and time management skills. Knowledge of manufacturing processes. 

 

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience. 

Experience Requirements
