Department Summary:

The Benefits Modernization Division (P860) supports the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) – specifically the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and the National Cemeteries Administration (NCA) – as well as the Social Security Administration (SSA) across several high-profile, complex, and inter-related projects and initiatives, which include: Digital GI Bill modernization, Pension & Fiduciary modernization, Military to Civilian Transition activities, Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E) transformation, and Fiscal Stewardship initiatives.

Many of our employees work on multiple projects across VBA, NCA, SSA, and others across the company’s many other programs. Roles & Responsibilities:

The Benefits Modernization Division is seeking a motivated, creative, collaborative, action-oriented, and strategically minded Program Management Analyst to:

Enable sound problem definitionDrive innovative solutions through inclusive collaborationProvide thought leadership on emerging methods for solutioning and collaborationDesign approachable, repeatable, and effective engagements for discussing, debating, drafting, and deciding

This position offers the opportunity to interact directly with Government and MITRE leaders in a fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere with the ability to make a difference.

Strong candidates for this position will possess the necessary skills and experience to fulfill (among others) the following tasks:

Solution Co-Creation: Lead teams and partner with organizations to create solutions and solve sponsor specific mission problems in broad range of areas. Engage across MITRE to identify internal research results, other mission successes, and industry trends that can be applied to sponsor problems.

The candidate must exhibit the following behaviors to be successful in this position, have a rapid onboarding, and an enduring impact:

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. Ability to think broadly and strategically backed up with significant experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work across the various organizations within MITRE, our sponsor space, and industry to achieve important outcomes for our sponsors.Demonstrated ability to manage the development of actionable solutions to real world business problems.Ability to obtain a VA Suitability determination.This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to impact high-level business decisions and operations.Experience working with high-level sponsor executives.An acute sense of self and ability to sense in others their motivations, intents, and interests – to enable them to achieve each.Recognized as a diligent taskmaster, strategic planner, active listener, go-to problem solver, and reliable contributor to team efforts.Proven track record of professionalism, organizational and oratory skill, and collaborative behavior
