Program Manager, ACES, On the Road Improvement

The Program Manager of the Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES) team is responsible for improving Quality, speed and cost of our on road delivery process to expand and optimize our AMZL network across Japan. This position will work with cross-functional teams and lead various programs to sustain and improve the last-mile on road delivery process.
There are 2 main types of tasks in AMZL OTR (On the Road) ACES team:
1. Deploy various technological solutions and tools for Japan, to enhance and improve delivery quality and productivity and also to improve delivery experience of our delivery associates as well as end Customers.
ACES team is also responsible to establish standards for the new tools and processes deployed.
2. Data analysis of the delivery process KPIs to monitor performance of delivery network, and creating mechanisms to continuously improve the performance of these KPIs across network. This also involves leading improvement projects at delivery stations.
For standardization and field data collection, domestic travel to visit field locations is expected.
This position requires self starter and strong ownership attitude to identify and work on improvement opportunities in processes even outside of one's own work scope.
This job involves collecting and analyzing data from various systems, improving the processes, and also visits to delivery stations & negotiations with stakeholders for implementing the improvements.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead to implement various programs deployed world wide in Japan network
- Creation and revisions of work standards of delivery stations related to safety, quality, productivity
- Leading process improvements based on gathered data and field observations, feedbacks, and by drawing logical conclusions based on the data collected
- Make an ideal operations environment where Safety, Quality and productivity are continuously improved through trainings, data analysis and development of resources
- Train and make use of basic continuous improvement tools and principles such as 7 wastes, 5 Why, 5S, Standard work, DMAIC for systematic problem solving and continuous improvements
- Implement high impact improvements (Kaizen) with Operations teams, and also create mechanisms to sustain the culture of kaizen in operations
A day in the life
This position requires strong relationships and communication across regions for implementing various improvement initiatives and deploying new processes or tools, for example:
- Collaborating with other networks such as North America/Europe - AMZL JP to share best practices, and developing ideas to deploy those best practices in AMXL Japan
- Collaborating with Operations teams and leaders for implementing process improvements
- Conducting cost simulations using available data to negotiate and convince stakeholders to approve the processes or tools to be deployed
- Making plans and conducting pilots to validate the effectiveness of process improvements or tool deployments

In ACES team we have regular knowledge sharing meetings, task based learning sessions and team building activities, which contribute to keep the team connected but also help sharing knowledge, skills, and develop the team.
This role will work cross-functionally with AMXL team. Amazon Extra Large owns Amazon's end-to-end Heavy & Bulky (H&B) logistics network with our willing and equally customer obsessed partners, offering shipping, service & support for consumers and companies in a safe, reliable, seamless, standardized, and sustainable way that surprises and delights our customers.
