Key job responsibilities
The Program Manager will be part of the AIR Network Execution team in Europe. They will be responsible for operational planning and execution of linehaul schedules within the AIR network.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
-Executing the scheduling of trucks inbound and outbound of airport warehouses (“Gateways”), using both automated systems and an understanding of real-world network constraints
-Adjusting flight schedules to reflect short term changes throughout Amazon’s fulfillment network, such as public holidays and Fulfillment Center closures
-Communicating with Amazon sites and stakeholders (including Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers, Delivery Stations, Airport Gateways) to agree on the best scheduling plan
-Driving changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of scheduling and volume forecasting, working with Tech teams and forecasting teams
-Develop continuous improvement opportunities for network execution
-Identify and communicate roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes to cross-functional project teams to gain buy-in and deliver to project schedules.
-Representing the company with partners, and work across all relevant cross-functional areas to guarantee effective communication, implementation, and execution of objectives.
Successful candidates will have the following skills/experience:
-Entrepreneurial spirit (a self-starter) with strong business judgement.
-Operational mindset; able to understand a complex fulfillment network and understand real world operational constraints
-Attention to detail, accuracy and reliability to execute the scheduling process.
-Proven track record of working in cross-functional organizations, while navigating through ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability, and delivering on commitments.
-Ability to use analytical tools to dive deep and never be out of touch with the details of the business; ability or willingness to learn how to build reports using common IT tools.
