Program Manager, Auto & Mfg Industry Business Unit

The Automotive & Manufacturing IBU is seeking an experienced Program Manager who will build and lead key initiatives and programs aligned with our long-term strategic priorities.
We need a Program Manager with strong automotive and/or manufacturing industry background, program management skills, communication skills, finance familiarity, an understanding of emerging technology product and business fundamentals, and an ability to think strategically and scale new programs. A core component of this role will also be operating both externally and internally, collaborating with teams that both build and execute strategies, managing IBU communications, including the development and execution of our organizational communications strategy aligned to industry strategy. The ideal candidate has a strong technology background and program management background, combined with experience in managing key customer and partner executive engagements. The ideal candidate will also be an exceptionally strong analytical thinker with a track record of systems-level problem solving and developing successful strategic plans to execute in highly ambiguous and innovative problem spaces using data. They will thrive in fast-paced dynamic environments and have very strong communication and presentation skills.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

This role can potentially also be based in Paris, London, Washington DC or Detroit.


Key job responsibilities
- Partner with Auto&Mfg Industry Business Unit (IBU) leadership team, extended stakeholder teams (ProServe, AIP, APN COE, Legal, Marketing, Enterprise Support, Field Enablement), and AGS STO teams to build programs and enablement that will accelerate industry transformation. Strengthen the connection issues among different teams to remove blockers for business growth.
- Develop new programs, mechanisms, and automation to track, assess, and uncover new business insights for the executive engagements for IBU Direct and STO strategic accounts, including regular cadence, briefing doc development, and meeting notes distribution/follow-ups.
- Exhibit proactive ability and expertise in setting business operations and performance discussions across other business stakeholder organizations (AWS Industry Products, AWS Professional Services, AWS Partner organization, etc.)
- Relentlessly simplify and improve existing business operations systems
- Effectively develop and cultivate multi-channel communication strategy to share knowledge, wins, insights and create a community feel between our globally dispersed teams.
- Lead the IBU participation at industry events, including track internal team attendance, customer/partner executive matching, post-event follow-ups.
- Simplify and improve existing mechanisms for customer/partner engagements, including EBC, Executive Sponsorship Program, CIO/CISO council, and etc. Always gather best practices from AWS engagement leads community.
- Be the Point of Contact for account teams to deliver bar-raising AWS senior leader engagements, including Director and CEO engagements.
- Own the design and delivery of the org-level initiatives agreed within IBU leadership team, including LT quarterly, IBU leaders’ initiatives, and AWSI initiatives (Women at AWSI, PET, ID&E etc).
- Develop and implement the communication strategy with GTM content team for the IBU organization to accelerate industry transformation.
- Lead and cultivate multi-channel communication strategy to share knowledge, wins, insights and create a community feel between our globally dispersed teams.
- Drive content creation with GTM and marketing team for the IBU executive keynotes and speaking, including leaders’ video messages, internal All-team calls, fireside chats, panel discussions, annual kick-offs, speaking at industry events, and etc.
- Manage IBU program budget with finance team.
