Delta is seeking a passionate and experienced environmental
professional to lead our enterprise-wide remediation and hazardous waste
programs. As a key member of our Corporate Environmental Programs team, you’ll
help shape the company’s environmental strategy, provide subject matter
expertise, and collaborate across all aspects of airline operations.
This role blends hands-on regulatory compliance with
strategic thinking and systems-level innovation. You’ll play a pivotal role in
ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and making a measurable
impact across our global operations.

**Key Responsibilities**
+ Develop and implement enterprise strategies for addressinghistoric remediation sites and emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS), with a focuson site closure and risk mitigation.
+ Advance Delta’s policies, processes, and complianceinitiatives related to hazardous waste management, emphasizing waste reductionand continuous improvement.
+ Use Delta’s Environmental Management System (EMS) andEnvironmental Management Information System (EMIS) to track program performanceand identify opportunities for risk reduction through data analysis.
+ Partner with airport station leaders and divisionalenvironmental staff to implement best practices and compliance solutions.
+ Provide subject matter expertise to internal teams—includingLegal, Corporate Real Estate, Technical Operations, Airport Operations, andSustainability—on environmental aspects of construction projects, leases, duediligence, and ESG reporting.
+ Manage relationships with environmental consultants toleverage specialized expertise, mitigate risk, and enhance performance.
+ Represent Delta in interactions with regulatory agencies asneeded.
+ Support environmental audits, assurance programs, and theadoption of new technologies and systems.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in environmental compliance, remediation, and hazardous waste management. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
+ Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects independently and adapt to changing priorities.
+ Willingness to travel 10–20% for station visits and project oversight.
+ Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
+ Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
+ Experience in aviation or other highly regulated industries.
+ Familiarity with EMIS platforms such as Intelex or ACTs.
+ Professional certifications such as PE, REM, or CHMM.
+ Experience with environmental audits, assurance programs, and ISO14001.
+ Hands-on experience managing PFAS or other emerging contaminants.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences/Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
