Program Manager, Neuro-Oncology
Our Global Pediatric Medicine department is searching for a Program Manager for Neuro-Oncology. The person in this role plans and manages projects and/or programs, resource requirements, training needs, and deliverables. Another huge task for this role is managing the design and testing of projects, inclusive of data management. Overview The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research. The Program Manager will focus on strategies to advance the care of children and adolescents with central nervous system (CNS) tumors globally. Responsibilities GPM is seeking a program manager to support capacity-building operations and research projects in global pediatric neuro-oncology. This key team member will act as a liaison with GPM faculty, other members of GPM, and global collaborators and will support the operations and research workstreams. The ideal candidate would be eager to help grow the program and innovate in expanding patient-centered initiatives. The Program Manager will be responsible for: Lead the planning and execution of a program, including defining objectives, approaches, goals, governance mechanisms, resource deployment, periodic reviews, contingency planning, and periodic reporting and communication. Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally to achieve defined outcomes aligned with program and departmental strategies. Participating in all aspects of programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance. Drive internal stakeholder management and communications, and strong partnership with stakeholders inside and outside the institution. Track program and/or project success. Provide oversight and management of program budgets through planning, control and tracking of expenditures. Provide more complex analysis of data to create reports for senior leadership. Skills and Abilities: Strong oral/written skills required. Ability to analyze and synthesize new information and details quickly is critical. Excellent organizational skills and attention to details is a must. Ability to develop long range plans (including budget and resources) for large/ multiple/ complex programs. Able to draw insights from different sets of data and quickly understand why issues are happening. Leads team meetings on a need basis and effectively communicates with cross-functional teams for results. Understands and uses digital tools of communication as needed. Speaks up in meetings, raises concerns, and shares information with team. Remains calm in challenging and uncertain times by maintaining a focus on the end goals and solving problems. Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities. Ability to carry out broad assignments with minimal supervision. Defines scope and milestones clearly with a clear understanding of customer needs and overall program goals. Identifies and regularly communicates with critical cross functional stakeholders, managing resources & conflicts and drive accountabilities. Minimum Experience: 4+ years of experience in program management and delivery. Experience designing and managing programs with focus on customer needs. Experience in program budget tracking, reporting and risk management. Proven experience engaging with senior leaders to facilitate decision making. Experience providing guidance and mentorship within program management team. Some experience driving continuous program improvement projects. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
