Department Overview
The coworkers of the Service Planning and Design organization (SP&D) support the company’s True North Strategy by delivering customers safe, reliable, and affordable electric and gas services in compliance with all applicable regulatory and internal requirements. SP&D supports both gas and electric operations through its customer project management, design and estimating functions, dependency, construction, clerical and joint utility functions.
Position Summary
The Principal Program Manager position is responsible for aspects of the joint use program strategy and operations specific to third party attacher (customer) relationships and escalation management. Provide consulting services to internal lines of business on joint use customer related issues, including customer-specific inquiries, escalated complaints and understanding and interpretation of complex legal and regulatory matters and the associated enterprise-wide and customer related impacts. Ability to use understanding of joint use practices to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvement. Will develop standards, measurement, forecast and reporting on the program. Partnering with internal organizations, other utilities, vendors and external partners to develop and implement strategies to reach appropriate customer audience at the appropriate time. Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners, internal and external to PG&E. Leverage customer insight and escalation lessons learn to inform regulatory proceedings and compliance requirements.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the Bay Area Territory. Position will require up to 20% of travel time in work schedule.
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000.
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000.

California Minimum: $133,000.
California Maximum: $226,000.
Job Responsibilities
May manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives, including PG&E JUMP pole database requirements Coaches and mentors less experienced employees Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions on a variety of issues including Joint Use safety, compliance, and escalations Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support Company goals. May attend Northern California Joint Pole Association and other meetings. Collaborates with internal estimating, clerical and other key stakeholders to create action plans for customer processes that affect compliance and regulatory work. Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives. Collaborates across organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program. Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals. Organize and lead cross-utility project teams to influence utility, regulatory and/or industry decisions based on customer demand. Leads large statewide programs or efforts on behalf of PG&E to resolve issues and conflicts or to educate other parties to improve level of service provided to third party attachers. Develops or provides significant input to PG&E leadership, other utilities with similar programs, industry and/or regulatory decision makers to influence marketplace and regulatory strategies impacting PG&E and its customers.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience Master’s degree preferred. Job-related experience, 10 yearsDesired:
