The Amazon World Wide Sustainability (WWS) Global IMPACT team—Integrated Marketing, Partnerships, Action, Communications, and The Climate Pledge (TCP)—leads external-facing initiatives, as well as internal communications and employee engagement programs for Amazon Worldwide Sustainability (WWS). The Climate Pledge represents Amazon’s bold goal of net zero carbon by 2040, as well as more than 450 companies that joined the Pledge. The Pledge, with its vision to be a premier ecosystem for private sector collaboration, presents a leadership opportunity for companies around the world to work together to take urgent action on the climate crisis. Today, TCP has grown into one of the biggest global cross-sector corporate climate communities with more than 450 companies committed to net zero by 2040.
The Climate Pledge’s Strategic Projects and Programs team is responsible for developing projects that help signatories on projects that align with the three pillars of the Pledge that companies commit to – measuring and reporting carbon emissions, decarbonizing operations across scopes 1, 2 and 3, and neutralizing any remaining emissions with permanent, real, quantifiable carbon off-sets.in their net-zero goals. We consider our signatories as our customers - and the team exists to help support our customers to make progress towards their ambition net zero goals. The team is looking for a Sustainability Associate to support project and program development for signatories with operations in the APAC region.
Key job responsibilities
• Carry out desk research on potential collaboration projects, in the priority areas (renewable, transport decarbonization, built environment, circular economy, supply chain decarbonisation, and nature-based solutions).
• Co-ordinate with project partners (internal and external) for new and ongoing projects.
• Understand industry best practices to inform project identification and proposal preparation.
• Liaise with different internal teams (public policy, PR) for updates related to joint action projects.
• Identify and onboard signatories, potential signatories for ongoing projects.
• Support recruitment of prospective signatories; including leading pitch calls that lay out the Pledge’s value proposition and examples of signatory offers within the community
• Coordinate with Operations, Communications and Marketing teams on developing external-facing knowledge products and events planning
• Support team weekly meetings with note-taking and delegating follow up actions
• Create briefs for meetings and events drawing from information on emails, experience with
companies, desktop research, and Salesforce notes.
