Job Overview

The UC Field Center seeks a program manager who will manage operations and maintain functionality of a remote field center that includes seven buildings on 17 acres. This person will be required to report primarily to the facility in Miami Whitewater Park. Projects will be undertaken collaboratively with the director and student assistant for the UC Field Center, while many routine tasks will be performed independently. Salary base will be between $40,000 to $50,000 based on prior experience, but at 80% of the full-time rate, or four days (32 hrs.) per week.

 

Manage the use and maintenance of the facility and equipment for use in field research and instruction at a facility located in Miami Whitewater Park, near Harrison, OH.

Essential Functions Plan and execute the maintenance, function and minor improvements to existing facilities remote from main campus in Miami Whitewater Park.  Ability to work independently and report back regularly to supervisors about conditions and project status.   Help create demonstration displays that advance the mission of the Field Center that include growing native plants and green infrastructure.  Assist in directing faculty, students in those parts of their research and instructional projects that involve the use of facilities, outdoor space, and equipment. Maintain inventory and invoice payments for services and utilities required to operate the facility. Purchase of necessary components to fulfill the above duties and coordinating with outside contractors. Perform occasional duties based on facility need, including program assistance, custodial, landscaping, and communications.  This job description can be changed at any time. Additional Qualifications Considered

Three (3) years of experience in service of programs or facilities.

Experience coordinating student/public learning activities. Experience with plant propagation, greenhouse, farming or outdoor facilities. Experience with facility maintenance, operations, hosting of outside groups and activities.
