Program Manager, Volunteer Services
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has an opening for a Program Manager for Volunteer Services at the main Longwood campus. Reporting to the manager of volunteer services and patient programs, the Program Manager of Longwood Volunteer Services is responsible for the day-to-day program coordination of Longwood volunteer orientation, placement, training, and supervision. This includes daily monitoring of volunteer scheduling, real time problem solving, and relationship management with staff of programs where volunteers are placed. The Program Manager will work with the Manager of volunteer services to implement programs for the Longwood campus and provide patient and family assistance as needed. They will serve as supervisor to the Chestnut Hill Volunteer Program Coordinator. The Longwood Volunteer program serves as the home base and model for all volunteer programs across the DFCI enterprise. **Location: Longwood, with occasional travel to the Chestnut Hill location.** Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. We conduct groundbreaking research that advances treatment, we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers, and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals. + Develop annual budgets and operating strategies for the program. + Monitor program progress against targets/budgets after implementation to evaluate success and intervene to adjust as needed. + Develop and manage evaluation methods to access program strengths and identify areas of improvement. + Work closely with program leadership to enhance communication and transparency regarding project decisions and issues. + Oversee implementation of services/projects including documenting all necessary policies and procedures, system set-up, and staff training. + Produce tangible reports for management throughout project life cycles. + Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives. + Apply change, risk, and resource management. + Assure deliverables are aligned across the various projects within the program. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:** + May have supervisory responsibilities. + Bachelor's degree. + 3 years relevant experience as a project manager and/or program manager, preferably in a health care or research environment. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:** + Extensive knowledge of program management processes, performance evaluation and change management principles. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures. + Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
