Job Description

AECOM’s Digital Practice & Technology Group is looking for an Asset Management Technical Lead for our growing Transportation Asset Management business. Business will focus on transportation infrastructure and buildings. Typical responsibilities involve working with client agencies to create and implement solutions to meet business needs. These solutions typically entail collecting, assembling and analyzing data (including BIM and GIS), implementation of technology and software, strengthening business processes, and growing the capabilities of the clients’ organization through training and education.

The Asset Management Technical Lead will work with Asset Management professionals in our group, as well as have access to AECOM's extensive pool of talent in other disciplines including engineering, BIM, scanning, surveying, and GIS.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Build relationships with internal and external clients, regulatory bodies, policy developers, vendors, and contractorsManagement of project budgets and schedules, as well as the preparation of written reports for clients and senior executivesAdapt/respond to changes in client expectationsUtilization of data collection technologies and methodologiesDocumentation of client asset management business processes and capabilitiesDevelopment of asset inventories and asset management plans\Analysis of asset inventories to determine the impact of alternative funding levels on state-of-good-repair backlog, condition, reliability, and operating & maintenance costIntegration of analytical results into client financial plansReport writing and presentation of findingsConduct, document, and communicate consulting assignments or tasks to a high professional standardContribution to overall engagement profitability and performanceDelivery of timely and quality services that meet or exceed team manager’s and client’s expectationsParticipation in professional organizations relevant to the asset management marketDevelopment of capital improvement programs scenarios based on conditions, budget, and priorities of clients.Utilize state DOT transportation asset management plans, and/or transit asset management plans, asset management or state of good repair decision support toolsParticipate in national/regional industry organizations, as appropriate on behalf of AECOM and AECOM’s clientsWork with key members of our team to advance strategic business initiatives, including support of existing client relationships and growth of our project portfolioDevelop, present, and execute winning client strategies for new and follow-on contract bidsSupport all phases of contract procurement – from pre-positioning to proposal development and post-submission activitiesMentor and coach team members as requiredServe as a reviewer

Qualifications

Min Requirements

BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationDue to nature of work involved, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field + 4 years of related experience in infrastructure asset management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationExperience in transportation infrastructure asset management (vertical and horizontal infrastructure)Project management skills within infrastructure asset managementFamiliarity with the management of the entire life cycle—including design, construction, commissioning, operating, maintaining, repairing, modifying, replacing and decommissioning/disposal—of physical and infrastructure assetsMS Degree in Engineering, Transportation, Urban Planning, Economics, Finance, Information Technology, Public Policy, Business, or related fieldExposure to one or more of the following: asset management, financial analysis, economic analysis, management consulting, business process improvement, information technology consulting, or other relevant areaUnderstanding and insights in the field of asset management within one or more of the following: financial planning, urban transportation planning, transit management and operations, rail management and operations, budget development and cost allocation principlesIAM Certification or DiplomaExperience with asset management and other software (e.g., Agile Assets, Maximo, Cartegraph, Cityworks, Deighton, ArcMap, ArcGIS, MS Office, Power BI, etc.)Previous experience managing Asset Management projects and/or staffMicrosoft Excel proficiency, including using advanced functions, usage of ETL tools, ETL report creation, macros and visual basic are highly preferredKnowledge and application of analytics software/tools such as Excel, Power BI/Dax, or R, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and their use for customization and automationSupporting experience in other Microsoft Office applications including Word and PowerPoint. Asset Management software such as Agile Assets, Cartegraph, Deighton, or Cityworks is desiredExperience with BIM and/or CIIM (Civil Integrated Information Modeling)Knowledge and understanding of asset management policies, practices, standards, and emerging research in the field, as well as Basin Management Plans, drought management, rates, revenues, and operational costsAbility to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environmentCommunication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external clients, regulatory bodies, policy developers, vendors, and contractorsAnalytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage both risks and opportunities
