Summary

The Project Manager plans, organizes, and controls assigned projects from management of the proposal through program life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. Manage small projects or one phase of a large project, from start to finish, within time, cost, scope and quality constraints with guidance of a senior project manager or supervisor by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Direct all phases of the program from requirements analysis, initial planning through all phases to successful product delivery and assure a timely closeout of completed programs to ensure that all obligations are satisfied, and program documentation is properly recordedSupport program bid and proposal activities. Ensure that requirements of the request for proposal are met in the preparation and documentation of bids and proposalsActively seek new business and growth opportunities in coordination with business developmentDevelop and implement plans and schedules to execute contracts/subcontracts. Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel, and purchased services. Report program status to senior management monthlyDevelopment and maintenance of the program integrated master schedule to include the internal and external milestones and phases as established by the respective program teamsEstablish and monitor adherence to program master plans and schedules, identify program problems, obtain solutions, direct allocation of resourcesDevelop and implement corrective action plans when deviations from budgets and/or schedule are evident. Seek senior management assistance in resolving schedule and budget problems as they ariseFormally identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle. Obtain management approval prior to making decisions that will cause deterioration of established program, cost, and schedule objectivesMaintain program financial forecasts, report progress to financial objectivesServe as primary the primary interface with the customer on all matters involving contract execution. Coordinate with other departments on resolution of contractual problems with customer. Coordinate with contracts manager on issues pertaining to contract requirements, changes, and interpretationsAbility to clearly communicate program status, issues, risks, opportunities and plans to internal senior management Ensure coordination across multiple programs and/or projects and with other product line leads

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree, Masters Degree preferredGovernment Program experience preferredPMI Certification preferredMinimum 10 years program management related experienceSuccessful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense programs as a prime or subcontractor to a domestic or foreign military organization, U.S. military experience (officer or Sr. enlisted) preferredMust be a dynamic and energetic leader that involves other team members in the decision making and change processExperience with earned value cost accounting and reporting; experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity, and variance analysisThe position requires coordinating and working with cross-functional teamsStrong communication skills to advise team members and senior management on status and/or actionsMicrosoft Office Suite skills, including PowerPointActive Secret security clearance preferred, Secret clearance issuance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment is required – DoDHigh-energy and self-driven individual that can “make things happen” without a large support organization to depend on daily and knows how to manage his/her time wiselyA personality style that is team oriented and has the success of the customer, program, organization, and business as his/her main objective

Preferred Skills  

Government Program experience preferred PMP Certification preferred 5-8 years program management related experience preferred Successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense programs as a prime or subcontractor to a domestic or foreign military organization, U.S. military experience (officer or Sr. enlisted) preferred Active Secret security clearance preferred 

Security Responsibilities  

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.   

 Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.  

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.  

Work Environment  

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Ability to travel on occasion, nationally and internationally. Ability to handle essential duties and responsibilities worldwide. Work will be performed in an office environment Work will require activities to be performed in a simulator high-bay environment periodically  Work will require activities to be performed in a simulator computer lab periodically 

Physical Demands  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   

Ability to operate personal computer, communicate via telephone. Ability to work many hours under pressure. Ability to work overtime as needed
