**The Opportunity**
This position works primarily out of our Plymouth, MN location with flexibility to work at the St. Paul, MN location, as required, in the Electrophysiology (EP) Medical Device division.
In Abbott’s EP business, growing double digits, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As a R&D Program Manager, you'll have the opportunity to lead programs to develop disruptive technology in electrophysiology that promises to revolutionize patient treatment and prove its safety, efficacy, and efficiency in one of our 3 Portfolios: Ablation, Diagnostics, and Mapping.
**What You'll Work On**
+ Leading and optimizing development efforts to meet the market needs by developing a high confidence schedule and contract, maintaining scope and budget, presenting status/updates to executive leadership and proposing solutions from a set of development options
+ Coordinating across multiple R&D teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, HDL, Systems Design and Verification teams, cross functional stakeholders including Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain by casting vision and resolving resource conflicts
+ Driving accountability through identifying dependencies, critical path tasks and forward looking forecasting of program and technical risks, mitigations for those risks and key team decisions with trade offs
+ Creating, leading and releasing Project Plans, Contracts, Design Reviews and Technical Reviews
+ Organizing and coordinating the build and use of prototype builds and system component integrations
+ Maintains effective communication with senior management, providing awareness of critical issues and action plans for resolution of issues
+ Analyzes the impact of changes in existing projects or addition of new projects and identifies strategies (resources allocation/project sequencing) for accomplishing all desired projects----identifies project interrelationships that affect priority and resources allocation decisions
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science discipline
+ Minimum 10 years experience in R&D engineering or related area
+ Minimum 7 years leading significant projects and/or teams in a medical device or regulated industry
+ Strong people leader and influencer across teams in a matrixed environment
+ Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
+ High accountability to projects, processes, and teams
+ Self-starter with a track record of successful launching a product and meeting project deadlines and budgets

The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 – $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
