Summary About the Position: This supervisory position is in the Mega Project Division, Department of Veteran Affairs Branch located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Relocation Incentive may be authorized if found in the best interest of the Government. Responsibilities Serves as Branch Chief Mega Project Division or Programs and Project Management Division dedicated to execution of projects or programs designated by HQUSACE Civil Works and Military Programs. Typical attributes of a Mega Project include projects involving unique or highly complex systems, processes, and technical challenges; acquisition strategies with higher complexity and pricing flexibility. Also includes national or international significance; constrained funding or completion dates; coordination of multiple prime contractors; coordination of multiple design agents and stakeholders; or overlapping or dependent project phases. This position will lead the Project Leadership team and will carry out the day-to-day management of a Mega Project or program. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes military, civil works or Interagency & International Services programs and/or projects that are highly visible with multiple complexities of technical issues, political interest, public impact and environmental sensitivity, management of programs and employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Leadership Oral Communication Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Program (CP) Administration and Management position You may claim military spouse preference (MSP). Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
