Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit The purpose of the Global Engagement Office is to coordinate, develop, and nurture the University’s international activities and to ensure that the University achieves its international goals as stated in its Strategic Plans. Specific activities include: developing and managing the Study Abroad and Exchanges programs; managing the faculty-led programs; recruitment, admission, and retention of international students; providing support services including immigration and practical training placement for international (F1) and exchange students (J1) and visiting scholars; securing funding for international-related projects for the faculty, departments and university; developing and managing outreach programs to the local schools, businesses and community. GEO serves as the liaison for the Interlink Language Programs and oversees the work of a position that supports international efforts for the UNC System institutions. Position Summary The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of various programs that align with GEO’s recruitment and global learning goals. This position is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and management of projects, supporting the lead PI in developing strategic project plans, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. Implementation of projects will require coordination, logistical support, communication, office administration, and project team training and mentoring.
The Program Manager reports to the Associate Provost for Global Engagement and works closely with all GEO staff to support and expand UNCG’s global engagement goals. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. international/global studies, public administration, business administration, higher education). Proven experience in program management or similar role. Strong organizational and time management skills and detail-oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Maintain relationships with current and potential funders and support the lead PI with timely reporting and compliance.
Percentage Of Time 10 Key Responsibility Stakeholder Engagement Essential Tasks Serve as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders, including community partners, grantors, and internal teams. Facilitate regular meetings and updates to ensure alignment and address challenges.
